Pono is a native of Oahu, HI who grew up in both Cupertino, CA and Middletown, NJ. He graduated from Monta Vista High School where he lettered in Football and Wrestling. He attended UC Davis where he played in the 1982 NCAA Division II National Championship Football game. He recieved his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from Sacramento State University and continued his education at Palmer Chiropractic College-West where he recieved his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree.
His interest includes treatment of myofascial pain syndromes especially “Tech Neck”, lower back pain, and concussion management and treatment. He is Graston Technique Level II certified and a California State appointed Qualified Medical Examiner. He performs WorkSTEPS Functional Capacity Evaluations and post offer/pre-employment tests.
He enjoys time with family, off road motorcycling, Sea Doo riding, and coaching high school football at Milpitas High School 2017 California State 4A Football Champions and 2019 California State 5A Football Champions.
