Kapu iā Hāloa, ulu hāhā loa, o ka lau o Hāloa i ka ao lā puka!
Verses 1810-1812 Kumulipo
Aloha mai kākou. We are Pūlama ʻĀina loʻi kalo farm located in East Maui. We believe that eating kalo keeps us rooted to the ʻāina and our cultural practices. It helps that itʻs so ono too!
Pili iā kākou ~ About Us
Our farm is cared for by 6th generation kalo farmer, Kainoa Kaauamo, educator, Kaliko Kaauamo, and our four keiki. In 2020 we lost our treasured family farmer, our papa Solo. After his passing our family returned to the loʻi to continue Papa and Mama`s lifeʻs work, decades of taro cultivation and traditional farming. Using the same tools and planting the same huli has allowed us to remain deeply connected to those who came before us. We truly believe this deep aloha can be tasted in the harvests that we share with our community.

Nā Makana o ka `Āina~ Gifts of the Land
Fill your ʻōpū with delicious wetland taro varieties: kalo paʻa (cooked) , kalo poi (pounded), or kalo maka (raw). Additionally we offer educational opportunities to deeper connect with the story of Hāloanakalaukapalili, our first ancestor, a taro. Please contact us to organize a work day for your organization or to use our kalo curriculum in your learning space.
